FINDING GOD:

Reflecting a bit on our most recent posts backwards and forwards it is clear that all that the two of us (and some others on this thread as well, I guess) are doing is arguing.

I have one approach to God, you have another, someone else has a third. Each of us is just arguing that our view is right. It's just an aspect of ordinary egoic existence.

This is a pointless exercise. In my experience, God has NOTHING to do with IDEAS about God. God has to be experienced PERSONALLY, has to be LIVED, PERSONALLY.

I believe this is true in any tradition. And how it comes about is different from one tradition to another. But it DOES happen!

In my experience, some of the requisites for it occuring are:

-- GENUINE wish to discover what life is about
-- WILLINGNESS to accept responsibility for one's life
-- WILLINGNESS to reorient one's life in light of what is shown and learned
-- RECEPTIVITY to feeling and subtle perceptions of all
kinds

I am happy enough to talk about the process that goes on in my Path, because I know something about it (if anyone is interested).

But I do not see any useful purpose served by my continuing to argue with others about their perceptions. We all hang on to our perceptions until the STUPIDITY of our existence becomes evident to us. Then we change.

Each of us hits that wall over and over again and hopefully in the process we learn. In that process the hunger for God develops. IF we are willing for that to occur.

Namaste!

Jim
