If you value "goodwill" as an asset built up over time by Dell's rather expensive advertising campaign, this will destroy a good part of the value of that asset for business customers at point of sale; it will also emphasize Dell's use as a personal rather than a business computer. This is a very crucial time for Dell; this may be a last straw kind of deal.

All things will be revealed in the fullness of time...
