Well actually terminated only once
Suspended on several occaisions, twice reinstatement was conditional on an apology......
The termination is actually a funny story....
I was running this hotshot thread that was always on the hotlist, and some guy that helped me on several occaisions asked me to help get his thread on the hotlist. So I helped, told my friends, posted on my thread.... It's actuallt pretty easy to get up there when you figure out the SI formula.... So his thread is up there at #1 on some Saturday, thing is I never understood what his thread was about. So jokingly I posted the inbox link. The guy thought that was somewhat funny and wanted to know how I managed to get a link to HIS messages, well of course only you can see your messages on SI. SO then I posted a link to the free SI tee-shirts. That link pulls up whatever info you gave to SI as your home address when you signed up. That freaked out a few people, they thought I was posting THEIR home address for everyone to see (like anyone would give a shit about them)
Soooo, I get an email from Jill not more than 2 hours after I posted the link complaining about all the emails she's getting about it and the fact that she had to go into work on a Saturday.......
Now, 2 days earlier I had complained about SPAMMERS on my popular thread. One spammer told me to fuck off on my thread. I complained about this, with no response.
So, with an immediate response to something that inconvenienced SI management, I went off the handle. Emailed Jill back - You're about to get a hell of a lot more complaints........
So I went around to the most popular threads and posted "This looks like a nice place to live; then the tee-shirt link" Idiots most people are, they didn't figure that only them could see their home address. I think it was the Ebay guys that really did me in, most of them sent me death threats for having posted their info to the public........
Was terminated for about a month, but SI Bob eventually made me promise to never post the link again for reinstatement. My thread was so popular they had to let me back.
BTW the link was valid, I did recieve free SI teeshirst along with many of the people that weren't total idiots and sent in a request |
