I dont disagree but wasnt it sun tsu who said if you can win a war without fighting it, that is a desirable outcome. So if we follow friedman with verification not only of saddam but of the west germans and vichy french, a four week delay would be acceptable. Its a long shot but if we could cut a deal with the euros and heal the rift and gain their support for war in four weeks if saddam doesnt respond that would be good. mike
