Here's one that blew my mind. I called a few of the local election offices here in Denver and the surrounding cities to find out what measures are taken to verify someone is actually a citizen of the U.S., before being allowed to vote. The answer every time was nothing, the proof of citizenship is based on self-affirmation (by checking a box). I asked them point blank, if someone was in our country illegally and lied about the proof of citizenship, could they still vote and the answer was, yes. Truly amazing.
