I note that the Qualcomm speakers seem to be reluctant to grab that figure, preferring to say over 7 million.

The only number I have seen for Unicom in January was supplied by KDDI. If the 8.1 million number is accurate, it would represent a drop-off but still a decent rate of growth (800,000 per month).

I guess we'll know more on the 20th....at least for the listed portion of Unicom's network.

One thing that sort of bothers me....last year, Unicom seemed to be announcing everytime they added another million CDMA subscribers. I dont think that there has been an announcement for the 8 million mark. Hopefully, this just means they discontinued the practice.
