Thank's Elmo - Mylex has a quiet period for buying back their own shares. Although the company announced that they will be buying back shares (according to the company) an SEC rule forbids them from buying said shares until four weeks have past from their latest quarterly earnings announcement. They were able to freely purchase shares (based on BOD approval) prior to their earnings announcement.

Therefore, if CEO Schmidt has all of this cash from the sale of a large portion of his SUNW shares....what do you think he will do with the proceeds? I guess if any sizable Novell stock position was made by CEO Schmidt during July, he would have to report it in the August 15, 1997 SEC insider report Form 8 is my guess??

Even if no SEC Form is submitted AND CEO Schmidt bought shares in the open market....I would think he would state it publicly (as long as John Young approved (smile):)...Dodn't you agree?

Anyway, we do know that he has the means (about $3.5 million) to purchase stock IF he thinks it is a bargain at these levels. If anybody should know, I believe he would.
