Wall St will *never* swear off stocks. how can it? if it did, it wouldn't be Wall St!

another reason i don't think we're going to have a panic bottom soon is that we're in an intermediate phase were a large chunk of the surviving traders are relatively cool customers with at least some decent trading skills. the bear-to-date has done a great job of chlorinating the trading gene pool.

just look at the posts on SI: sure, there are still lots of stupid things being said, but the overall level of analysis has gone WAY up since 1999's barrage of "you don't get it, man, it's a new economy".

imo the next big flush comes when the game gets taken to the next level and traders who have been doing the right things up to now get wiped out.

or, more likely perhaps, when us surviving bear-hardened "retail" piranhas don't have any braindead mufu managers left to eat alive and are forced to start trading against each other.
