Not really, if they had thought of that, would they be acting like spoiled children, who if they don't get their way start whining and bawling. I though is was just because they are liberals.
Sorry, dude, these are not your children, they are countries and if anyone has acted immaturely its Mr. Rumsfield and in the past week, Mr. Bush. As much as you would like to blow this one off, it stinks badly and frankly, I don't give up on long term relationships as easily as you seem to do.
You don't get it....the way Bush has treated our allies, I am surprised they are not breaking relations with us.

No, you grow up.........they have more at risk than we do and they are entitled to an opinion. Even the American people are becoming more in sync with the attitudes of the Europeans. I wouldn't want insolent members like that on my team either, acting like little spoiled stars, when they are second stringers. There are many other willing to take their place. The US will do fine without them, if that is what they wish.
Not to worry....its looking less and less like they will be on our team due to the continuing insolent behavior of Mr. Bush and Mr. Rumsfield.....and you think the Europeans are acting like children. Right!
