John,

With individual stocks, I have noticed that the success rate increases with the size of the float and with the avg volume traded. As for the DJIA and S&P, the sequential was successful in hitting the peaks last July and March '97. Of course these were only relatively minor and very brief setbacks.

I have done alot of work developing my own stock selection and timing system and have had good success at it. I recently started another thread devoted to this system. If you care to take a look you can go to

I think developing your own system is best because it will give you a better overall feel for the market but it takes alot of work and time. Using DeMarks sequential has been useful for trolling for stocks to include in my system but doesn't always come up with finalists.
