Of course, that is your automatic response - Blame Clinton for everything. Bush's lack of economic leadership is not the fault of Clinton. Clinton did not propose the tax cut in 2001. The economy could afford the lowering of interest rates by the fed because the economy was so healthy when Bush took office. Democrats told Bush there was not enough immediate stimulus because the cuts were all in the out years but he didn't listen. Democrats warned him about the chances of the surplus disappearing but they didn't listen. I still remember Domenici talking about more surpluses than the economy could handle. Yes, he actually said that.
