France laughed upon and ignored by Americans, yes, not the rest of the world. Let me remind you of Giscard d'Estaing, then president words on the Egyptian Israeli peace deal under Carter's wings :
"A peace that is not French is not a peace."
He later, much later, admitted to his mistake.
