I remember some people saying around here that the UN was becoming irrelevant, that it was undesirable for one thing or another.

Ut certainly is so long as the UN continues to reward despotic and tyrannical governments with choice positions of power and authority within its leadership.. (Syria on the UNSC.. Libya in charge of human rights.. :0)

But you shouldn't mistake Bush's attempt to make the UN leadership do what it was chartered to do.. promote democratic government and peaceful co-existence throughout the world, as well as confronting tyranny and oppression.

In short, they do not believe Belgians to be very bright, it seems...

Well, considering that a large portion of French people believe that the Pentagon was never hit by an aircraft, that would likely be a case of the "pot calling the kettle black".

That is a thought you should kill immediately, for it is not good for the months of diet until summer comes :-)

Just means we have to work out that much harder and exercize portion control.. Both a bane in my life... :0)
