I primarily think that Bush is just going about it with misconstrued timing. Why rush to depose Saddam? he isn't going anywhere (it would be good if he went into exile) and we could be focusing on getting the economy back on tract rather than splurge on war when the economy is still running on empty. I know that Bush faces re-election and he wants to whack Saddam and then have time for the economy to get back on it's fee before then, but I strongly disagree that there is a necessity to depose Saddam at this time. Wait a couple of years to develop more of a coalition and spread the costs out over more allies. The big cost will come during the 10-20 years that a presence will have to be maintained in Iraq. If this is mostly a U.S. military presence then it will look just like an occupation by the U.S. in the eyes of the Islamic fundamentalists. We will give them a great target to go after and to rally sentiment behind their continuing holly war. Being a bull headed Texan has it's strengths . . but being a cool strategist isn't one of Bush's strong points imo.
