HEY! DAWG! WHERE YOU BE? I think the peaceniks are going to win this one. There probably won't be a war now. Unlikely Bush will get a 2nd term too. I think they should wait a while before celebrating, though, maybe one or two or three decades. The last time the democracies gave in the peaceniks was in the 1930's with a guy called Adolph Hitler. We know where that led. The enemies of democracy- -all of them, the few remaining Communists, garden-variety dictators, and Islamic fanatics- -will be emboldened by the disarray and division inspired by some of our "friends". The next several years and decades could be highly dangerous. The problem is that our homegrown peaceniks are also emboldened and will strike quickly to prevent any actions to head off trouble. Probably successfully, since very few democratic leaders will be able to muster the will to resist knowing it means defeat in the next elections. We may have witnessed the most important sea change of the 21st century.
