Link please. Perhaps you are misunderstanding what I am saying. I am not talking about Schroeder giving up on his opposition to the US n the UN; just his opposition to denying protection for Turkey in Nato.

I don't think you understand......he is giving the missiles to Turkey but he's using channels outside of NATO.....its a snub to the US. You have no idea the hate Germans feel for Rumsfield and Bush. The way Bush and Rumsfield talked about the Germans couldn't have been more inappropriate. This breach in our alliance is only news to us. They have been planning on it for some time.

In other words, no matter what Gw did, they intended to commit premeditated murder on NATO.

Will you make up your mind. You just got done saying Schroeder and Chirac were planning this for a long time, and then now you change it to GW made them do it by bullying them for their vote on resolution 1441, which isn't that old. Which is it.

I did not say that Germany and France have been planning this for a long time. Since the EU has become more of a reality, there has been speculation that the EU and the US would be more competitive in commerce and that overtime it would lead to a cooling of our close ties. The EU would be more independent of the US.

However, that was envisioned to be ten-twenty years down the road.....if at all. Bush and Rumsfield have made it happened now.
