Israel is refusing to make peace, coz peace always comes at a higher cost than war....which for Israel, comes practically free because of US support.

stabilise the region? Nope. the squirmishes in Asia and ME were contained before Britain sought the empire. And if US leaves the world alone, they'd be as contained again. The world will be a better place. Foreign intervention merely leaves a society diseased....I think Arab/Irael conflict would end in a twinkle if Israel and Arabs were both left to fend for themselves....

The analogy with Hitler is mute. I don't see Saddam Hussain as anything but a pathetic ancient relic. Iraq would have self imploded long ago of it hadn't been for Americans meddling in their region during the 80s....

I like to give example of India and Pakistan. Look what US 'aid' and umbrella has done to Pakistan - destabilised and rotten to the core - where as India, away from foreign 'aid', has progressed significantly more...

US Aid is not just out of the goodness of our hearts. It has a well defined political agenda (well most of it anyway). It is a tool to control. And if a leadership is controlled, it can never find its voice and balance....
