Listen, its perfectly legitimate for nation states to act in their own self-interest.....the U.S. does it, everyone does it...that is the responsibility of governments (to do what's in the best interest of their people- or what they THINK is in their best interest-g)

What do we have in common (culturally, politically, religous, world view) with ally Saudi Arabia? We are both acting in self-interest there fer sure- viewed purely as a friendship, its pretty hypocritical

If Russia is our ally, its because its in their self-interest. If they are against us on Iraq, (because they view) its against their self-interest (does necessarily mean financial, but often does)
