I've read the resolution. And several other treaties which we have broken, or we let Israel break without consequence. This is nothing to us: breaking treaties or changing governments. I can't prove it is wrong to do so, but I can show you where you can expect society to go by using natural analogs. Very structured societies start to take on the forms of ant colonies, whether they be inhabited by ants or people. Don't get me wrong, we can live in hives. I just don't want to. When you have committed to having a soldier class that keeps the other ants in line, you've already gone down the road to fascism. Am I an anarchist? NO! But, we have a Constitution. The UN has a charter and we support it. We've made commitments and have supported "self-determination" in the past. There are exceptions and THE WORLD is supposed to decide on whether these exceptions justify deviating from our normal methods. Yet that is precisely where we have strayed from. We are becoming the soldier ants. "Step back in line and do as you are told." will be the next words coming from someone's mouth. And it might be said to former allies in Europe, or dissenters in our own country. Consider the advice to get into a 10 square foot closet and seal yourself in (never mind that people breath 100 cuft per hour and a closet is 80 cuft). OHD says you're good for 5 hours. It might be true, but ask any SCUBA diver. They'll tell you it is stupid advice. But wait! We'll tell you afterward that you barely survived a gas attack - you were short of breath and faint, right? Those are the symptoms! Boy are you lucky with your roll of tape and plastic and all. Count your blessings because some people died and they had sealed themselves in even more tightly even than you had.
