The anthrax attacks are quite well documented and forensic evidence completely eliminates any possibility of off shore origins. I assume if you are a Vietnam vet you are aware that guys with ratty beards and turbans don't saunter onto US military bases and help themselves to weaponized biological agents without raising a few eyebrows.
The first anthrax letters were mailed one week after the WTC attacks. That leaves you with three possibilities: 1. The biological agents were obtained after the attack and the anthrax strategy was developed and implemented in less than a week. 2. The weaponized anthrax had already been obtained and the plan was implemented as a matter of coincidence after the WTC was attacked. 3. The anthrax attacks were planned in conjunction with, and as a part of, the attacks on the WTC.
The logistics involved in #1 strike me as impractical to the point of impossibility. On #2 I'll concede random events do happen, but coincidence is not my first choice except in the absence of any other more reasonable explanation.
Stipulating #3 as the most likely explanation, then, since the anthrax letters were of domestic origin, the WTC attacks were also implemented as part of a domestically originated plan.
Our boarders are fairly loose, but how do 20 super hard core extremists enter the US without being noticed or observed? I'll go along with the idea a few could slip through the fingers of bureaucracy, but it strikes me as odd that a bunch of guys from known terrorist states, such as Syria, show up to take flying lessons, and nobody blinks an eye. A fair amount of unobtrusive inside assistance is pretty much a prerequisite for any possibility of success.
Try it on from a different perspective. I've just ordered you and 18 of your buddies to go to Syria to hijack 4 jumbo jets for a suicide mission. Let me know what kind of support you think you'll need once you get there, and I'll get back to you.
Back to the anthrax letters. Look at who got them. Daschle got two, which makes him kind of special. Daschle was the main force behind killing ANWR, and stands a good chance of becoming our next President. The media was heavily targeted, but mostly with placebos. The strategy was obviously intended to create public opinion the attacks were of Middle Eastern origin, even to the extent of a red herring thrown toward a US scientist, with a Middle Eastern sounding name, in the event the US origin of the agent became public.
The bottom line is people are goal oriented. No one does ANYTHING without some kind of motive. Whether the prize is a warm fuzzy feeling from doing a good deed in a naughty world, or winning a date with the prom queen, or money and power, all human actions are precipitated by some kind of motive.
Myself, I get a big kick out of lively debate, and am terribly disappointed when no one will offer an interesting response. Come on Mr. Zero, say something interesting before we all get bored to death. |
