Well, of course you helped out. It's hard for me to imagine anyone wouldn't. Except maybe in those parts of town where the bad guys control the turf. And even there you can at least call 911, although in DC you might get a recorded message.

I just had the Animal Planet on TV--Amazing Animal Rescues or some such. They had lots of examples of animals rescuing humans and humans rescuing animals. There were two segments where gorillas protected children who had fallen into their zoo enclosures and one of a zoo visitor who jumped into a chimpanzee exhibit to rescue a chimpanzee who was foundering in a moat. And then we have this bozo who steps over a human victim so he can complete his kerosene transaction. Or those who would kill every man, woman, and child in Iraq to keep them from threatening us. Sheesh!
