Dougin,

RE: the revenue growth rates

I share your view of DELL. Also, I find the bear attack to be based
on bear dung instead of honey. So much noise so little reason....

"As for not being any different than its competitors, well... Yesterday
the WSJ reported Dataquest and a competitor slugging it out as to
whether Dell's revs. grew mid 50% or mid 60% for 2nd soon to be reported quarter. (You know, the one where Intel said Europe sales were problematic and weak... Nearest competitor was Compaq at low 40s, industry was at 20%. THAT's not different? "

Just to correct the record CPQ grew revenue 25.2% year over year last quarter. DELL is expected to grow revenue at least 63.2% .
Thus, DELL is outgrowing CPQ by 2.5 X in revenues.

The 40's something number for CPQ was their unit sales increase. CPQ added the < $ 1000 PC to their consumer products line. DELL is not in this new consumer market.

I guess they are not too happy with their short positions this morning.
That accounts for the sound of bear silence on the threads.
