Big Oil and Clinton Fried Rice
by Alan Simpson
The Bush Administration may be guilty of a disastrous foreign policy, and blind obedience to the Cult of Oil, but history will show that the true villain in the "Beginning of the End of the United States of America" will be Clinton. It was not through a devious plan to help the enemy, but a plan to maximize profits, exploit cheap labor, and make a fast buck for Wall Street. "It's the Economy Stupid!" went far beyond providing a secure future for the people. It went into providing a handful with obscene wealth, and a large number of 401K holders with unbelievable paper profits, at the expense of everything else. Strangely Lenin may be right that the Capitalists will provide the tools for their own destruction.
The Church of Avarice and Greed is not a phenomenon reserved for the Bush Republicans, with their $33,000,000 fundraising dinners, sponsored by the Pharmaceutical Industry, to derail little old ladies getting reasonably priced medicines. It started long before that.
It goes back to junk bonds, dot comms, and the whole idea of a service and information economy. It goes back to the idea that you make more money out of making sneakers, electronics and clothing in Asia, for a couple of dollars, then selling them around the USA and Europe at hundreds of dollars. Fire all the American workers, close down the plants, and move all production to China, and Mexico.
Clinton went one step further. Why not provide those sweat shops and factories in China with the latest technology, so they can produce even more, and even more cheaply! Give the Chinese the latest rocket guidance technology so they can launch a bigger, better TV satellite for the US, at half the price of anyone else. More US TV channels, more Couch Potatoes, more demand for the goods made in China, more consumer spending, more profits for Wall Street.
Hey, sell those little yellow fellas their own TV satellites, so they can watch Hollywood movies, and buy US products, sold back to them at obscene mark-ups. What a deal, we get them to make things for nothing, stick on a Brand Label, and sell the things they made back for a huge killing! More profits for Wall Street.
Nobody seemed to have learned from the "Texas Land and Oil Shell Game" which eventually brought down the Texas banks, and destroyed the Texas economy. That same thinking was applied under Clinton to global trade. There is more money in moving the junk bonds around than producing the goods. But the smart executives did not stop there. Imagine the huge profits in betting on buying and selling those junk bonds. There is more profit in information on gambling, then either moving junk bonds around, and many times more than actually doing any work. That is if you had the factories, mills and steelworks to do any work with.
The phenomenal growth in the 1990's was a gigantic pyramid scheme.
But wait, was there not factories, lathes, production lines, fabrication plants and all the manufacturing processes created to fuel this bonanza. Yes in China. In return for a short spree of obscene profits, the United States has equipped a nation, with an opposite ideology, with the latest production capability, and production expertise, whilst destroying it's own manufacturing base. Today much of the manufacturing base needed to sustain the United States, especially in war is located in the camp of potential adversaries.
It is one thing moving wealth around within a countries own borders, or within a Economic Union, such as in Europe. But history has shown, again and again, that building up a potential adversary is dangerous in the long term. But "long term" is not fashionable in the quarter by quarter analysis of Wall Street.
The Bush Administration thinks in oil pipelines. They worship the hallowed ground that produces oil, and pray for a gusher sent from Heaven. They do not notice the endless convoys of ships, submarines, and old Soviet Aircraft Carriers bound for China. So long as they use oil for propulsion, that is all that matters. The Bush Hawks are planning to take out Saddam, but only after the mid-term elections, and just in time to boost the polls prior to the Presidential Elections. Then hammer the living daylights out of the Middle East up to 2008, and retire to run the new World Oil Conglomerates. Everything is to be thrown into the conflicts in the Middle East through 2008. All the things needed to run the country will be produced in China, and at a huge profit.
If there is a mobilization then the Chinese will need bigger and better factories, and more modern machinery to meet the demand for everything from boots, uniforms to semiconductors, and coffee mugs. Wall Street will be there to fund those factories, and make themselves BIG profits.
A recent GAO report shows that China will outperform, and take the lead in semiconductor production by 2010. Similar reports in other sectors show that China will be an economic Superpower by the end of this decade. A decade where the US will deplete its energy, resources, and reserves bolstering Israel, and securing Middle East Oil.
But the United States has treaties with Taiwan. They have sworn to fight the Communists tooth and nail, to protect that capitalist island. The mighty US military, that is the one now stationed in, and around those Middle East oilfields, will spring to action and defend Taiwan. The mighty military, and production capacity of the Worlds Superpower will smash the third world peasant economy of China.
Intelligence Reports, created under Clinton show China is our friend, and welcomes American investment, orders, machinery and know-how. They even buy old Soviet Aircraft Carriers to turn into theme parks, and dozens of submarines for job creation schemes. They have tens of millions of young men, without young women, wanting to prove their prowess, why not train them in factories making goods for the USA, for a few cents an hour. So they despise the capitalists who expect them to live in squalor, and work for cents, while they draw millions of dollars a year, plus stock options, what can they do against our mighty military. The one tied up in the Middle East protecting Big Oil, and Israel.
But critics, especially in the Jewish lobby will point out that Saddam may have built a crude "Weapon of Mass Destruction" capable of reaching Israel, in an 18 wheeler truck. Today the Chinese can wipe out New York, Los Angeles, Washington, Chicago, Detroit, and many more cities, with their Nukes, on top of Long March Rockets, with pin point accuracy, thanks to the Clinton Administration. They are so grateful to him and Ron Brown for giving them the technology that they thought of naming a plate of Fried Rice after him.
Saddam will not invade anybody anymore, and will be gone shortly anyway, through natural causes. China will some day invade Taiwan. One is irritating rhetoric, the other is a certainty.
Consider the USA embroiled in a long, bloody, and expensive conflict in the Middle East, to placate the Israeli Hawks, and the old hotheads in the Bush Administration. A weakened US military, deployed half way around the globe, up to it's armpits in sand.
Japan has still to be punished for Manchuria. Korea has still to be unified. Vietnam has to be punished for repelling the Chinese after defeating the Americans. Taiwan, has to be reunited with China. And then there is Russia. There are a lot of old scores to settle. A process blocked only by the United States, and the threat of military or economic retaliation.
Tread carefully Big Oil, for the bell that tolls the end could be tolling for you, not Saddam! |
