I consider that the triumph of hope over experience. With its current make-up, I see no hope at all that the UN, no matter how heavily subsidized, will ever be a force for peace in the world.

Indeed, if the UN actually had sufficient resources and military power to impose its will militarily, almost certainly the first thing it would do would be to disarm and dissolve Israel.
