Re: Several Israeli officials said that Israel might work to block new Belgian efforts to increase American investment.
Yesterday, our Zionist network RTL-TVi reported that Belgium's Chairman of the House of Representatives, Mr Herman Decroo, has been sent a letter by the US Chamber of Commerce advising him of adverse consequences on US investments in Belgium if the court ruling on Sharon were not "mitigated"....
Well, you know, I've been hammering that point home for some time now: the US will gradually scale down its stakes in Europe and shift to Asia/China NO MATTER WHAT happens in the geopolitical arena... And that's even more troubling and scary because it means that corporate America pulls the plug on Europe for very good, sensible reasons! Europe, and especially Germany, sucks... and the so-called enlargement to Eastern/Central Europe won't help (the EU's aggregated GDP will only rise by 3% whereas the total population will increase by 50% --from 300 mil to 450 mil) I believe that Switzerland alone has a bigger GDP than all the 12 EU candidates combined.... Somehow, the political quarrels between the EU and the US are just an excuse to rationalize the US disengagement in Europe, as always, the real, untold reason is economical: sluggish growth/prospects in the EU zone and +8% in China... as we put it in French, "Y a pas photo!" (there's no need for a photo finish)
As to the bubbling bad blood between Israel and Belgium, I guess it stems from the so-called Tueries du Brabant Wallon which, as I claim, were terrorist outrages (29 victims) carried out by Israeli mercenaries in Belgium from 1982 to 1985. PM Sharon was Israel's Defense Minister at the time --and likely involved in the killings plot. Hence Belgium's relentless jacking Sharon around is but an oblique way for her to retaliate... |
