Wellllll......I mean, these are troubled time, and troubled time call for special measures....so I will concede a bit of heavy handedness as long as the intentions are good and i can have my freedom back after the problem ends, but the way its going, the way they're handling it, its going to get worse.... I often feel Amrican Left takes a very extremist approach. Maybe because I have lived in 3 continents I have an appreciation of how free America already is. Often I find so much emphasis on political correctness tiresom. We're never going to have a Utopia - will we? OTOH, I have lived in the middle east and realised what being 'safe' from crime really means. The only thing that worried me about my daughter was the flu! I know many here would find it hard to believe, but we often think of returning to Dubai. Could US be free-er? Sure. But total freedom means total anarchy. In our families too we limit freedom - don't we? So IMO, it is a balancing act if you think about it, and a question of personal preferences. Democracy may not be a one size fits all.... Ok I concede to being a a moderate. Neither left nor right....just a few rambling thoughts...<g>
