Well, dips**t, MOST of those people listed in the post I was replying to got other than a Peace Prize. You didn't notice?

In fact, only one in that list DID receive the Peace Prize. For what that isn't worth.

A lot of them were physicists. Like Shockley.

The Peace Prize:
Yassar Arafat got one, remember? and Henry Kissinger? According to rumor, Nixon was up at one point.

In 1929, Frank Kellog got one. He pushed a pact outlawing war. Really worked well, didn't it?

Getting a peace prize seems to depend on hitting the right PC button at the right time in the full glare of publicity. It is by far the most meaningless of the bunch and disgraces the others.

Even in the sciences it is recognized that the selection process is arbitrary and capricious and often biased. And they're the best of the bunch.
