Cheese? Wine? Is that central to you? Would the french whistle a different tune if terrorists flew into the Eifel Tower or the Louvre? I am always dazzled at the stupidity, complacency, and absolute arrogance of the french... we saved their asses in WW I and WW II, we rebuilt their cities, we forgave their loans, for more than 50 years we spent American tax money keeping troops in bases in their country throughout the cold war protecting them from Communism... we defended them at our expense which allowed them astronomical savings on defense, saving which they used to develop their cities, simulate their economy, and grow economically and politically globally to do all the things you list, without the United States, france would not exist today... but now when it comes to recruiting them in a fight against terrorism, they look away... I say let them, they are nothing more than spoiled brats... the french have now effectively disqualified themselves as a significant world power, they cannot be respected or trusted... you're going to see a new european alliance including countries further to the east of central europe, and mark my words that france will not be included, the world can function well without france and their wine and cheese...
The next time terrorists and foreign armies are blowing up their bridges and bombing their buildings and raping their women, and they pick up the phone to call us for help, maybe we won't answer their call.....
