Not exactly.

1) Renault bought Mack.
2) Volvo bought Renault Truck and Mack Truck from Renault.
3) Ford bought Volvo Car from Volvo.
4) Renault makes cars.
5) Volvo Truck makes trucks.
6) Ford makes Volvo cars.
7) French Renault has had nothing to do with American trucks since 2000 when they divested their truck division to Volvo. So, it safe <wink wink> to boycott them. (:- /)
