Jochen - I think you are underestimating the anger that the actions of Germany and France is causing our populace.

I know many people with the sons in Kuwait. They believe there are only two outcomes, 1) the world stands united against Saddam, either he complies or we fight knowing there are no mixed signals to him, 2) or we have the present situation where we will never know if Saddam could have been forced to disarm short of war because he is winning by dividing and playing the West.

The French and Germans will have the blood on their hands of our soldiers and countless Iraqis unless we can finally convince Saddam he that he cannot divide us and that he must comply.

Chirac is playing a bold hand all or nothing and I cant help but wonder what we will find in Iraq when the smoke clears.

Your country has sided with the wrong ally, your country will regret it. This is different, in the cold war our citizens were not getting slaughtered.
