...harsh reality is that these prices would force owners to move. Imo that would be a good thing, that is the natural ebb and flow of a market. Retired people really have nothing to gain from owning a home next to Oracle, when land is tight...

Damn your heartless. These older people that you think should be moving so you can live in their place have been paying taxes for years to produce the very environment that you want to live in. Now you come along and think they should shoulder your added infrastructure, population, etc etc so you can enjoy their fruits. Tough luck, vote with your feet and make your own.
