Is this the question? "how is it humane/desirable/beneficial etc to invade Iraq and kill tens of thousands of Iraqis in the process." First you make the incorrect assumption that tens of thousands will die. Iraqi's are more likely to tear Saddam to pieces in the streets of Baghdad given the chance than they are to lay down their lives in droves to prevent Saddam's ouster. It is desirable because the people of Iraq have braved years and years of oppression and genocide and now there is hope for freedom. It is beneficial to the West and Iraq for there to be peace among the people, where travel is not restricted and there is freedom of the press and democracy. I, unlike you, do not wish to maintain the status quo.
