Cos, there is nothing uncivil about fallacious reasoning. It may be invalid but it's not uncivil. And the ad hominum, while less than friendly, was not in a class with the food fights or fist fights we see all too often elsewhere. I think the tone of the discussion has been OK. CH pointed out to you when he thought your tone started crossing the line. You can do the same. No need to throw up one's hands in disgust and exasperation, IMO, at least not quite yet. The substance to shit ratio is still relatively good. This doesn't have to be a slippery slope into a mob scene. Please don't give up yet.
