EXPLORATION UPDATE
Mustang Minerals has updated exploration activity at the McAra VMS (volcanic massive sulphide) property. The McAra property is located 120 kilometres south of Timmins, Ont., in a window of the Abitibi greenstone belt, a known world class host of VMS deposits.
Two shallow drill holes totalling 100 metres have now been completed. Disseminated, stringer and semi-massive sulphide mineralization was encountered over 29.5 metres in hole No. 1 and 21.4 metres in hole No. 2. Mineralization encountered consists primarily of pyrite and pyrrhotite, with lesser amounts of chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena. Mineralization is mostly hosted in metasediments.
Approximately 2,000 metres of drilling is planned in the initial phase of the program in order to drill test the relationship between the surface and drill hole sulphide mineralization, and a prominent geophysical conductor which has been outlined over a strike length of 400 metres. Geophysics was performed by Quantec Geoscience Inc. and consisted of a magnetic survey, Max/Min Horizontal Loop electromagnetic survey and an induced polarization survey over a one-kilometre by one-kilometre target area.
Drill core will be sent from the site to the Mustang exploration facility in Sudbury, Ont. Core will be logged and split and sent for assay at Expert Laboratory in Rouyn-Noranda. Check assays will be completed at a separate laboratory and will be reported when available. All work completed by Mustang Minerals is conducted under the supervision of Ken Lapierre, qualified person, for purposes of National Policy 43-101.
