Turkey is reportedly now requesting $50b for their "loyalty".

This reminds me of the change orders that come up during construction. The change order itself is often justified due to the fact that the "site conditions" are different than what was anticipated on the plans. But more often than not, the cost of the change order is ridiculously high because the contractor knows he can get away with it. It'd cost far more in the long run to hire someone else to do the 'extra' work, so he has the owner over the proverbial barrel.

Similarly, there is likely some justification of Turkey needing extra funds to deal with additional U.S. troops and the impacts to the various parts of their infrastructure. But $50b is on the ridiculous side...

(Not that I have a clue what $50b really means --> may as well be $50zillion as far as what dollar figure my mind can grasp)

FWIW,

JJ
