Peace protests did this? You don't think that NATO, or America's military defenses stayed USSR's expansionist goals?
How about the Cuban Missile Crisis? Did the peace protestors turn the nuclear missiles back to the USSR?
You don't think that Gorbachev, an extraordinary leader, with vision, had anything to do with the changes to the USSR?
How about North Korea? If peace protests changed the USSR, did it change North Korea, Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Lebanon, Haiti, etc., into democratic regimes?
