Because we had made this commitment to the G.D. UN. So then, O Wise One, why did the CIA encourage the uprising? They couldn't possibly think the Kurds could defeat Saddam on their own. People talk about Bush 41 having "made a mistake" by not going to Baghdad. WRONG. The mistake was in getting UN approval beforehand. And here we are being screwed by them again. Let's face facts.......Bush Sr. is a bit of a nincompoop; he can't seem to see the forest for the trees in almost any stituation. And I am afraid the acorn has fallen far from the tree. ted
