Nelson Mandela is the only genuine statesman in the whole world. There was some politics involved in getting Kissinger the prize and the award to Arafat was more an attempt to galvanize the people to build on whatever little was achieved with the peace talks. But as I said before, whatever prestige the Nobel Prize lost when it was awarded to the likes of Kissinger, it got at least some of it back when Mandela got it.
