My point was only that while there was, and still is, some politics with regard to awarding Nobel Peace Prizes, things have been changing for the better, and the award to Mandela (instead of to someone like Ronald Reagan) underscores this fact.

And it is good that they didn't do the kind of mistake they did with Kissinger -- in 1990, only Gorbachev got the prize, and Reagan was left out. So things are getting better with time.
