If we are setting aside the preference for impartial sources of information,

I really don't believe we'll ever find any side that impartial, thus we need to look at all information and discern for ourselves the veracity of it..

But let me add something in here about impartial Arab sites.. Since there are NO Arab democracies, and thus, no government that is truly accountable to anyone but themselves, can they be trusted to provide accurate information any more than the Israelis??

I have little doubt that Sharon, or any other Israeli politician, have their own little schemes and agendas.. And the beauty of democracy is that for every little conspiratorial scheme, there's one or more counter-conspiracies with a different agenda.. And all of these politicians are accountable to the Israeli population at all times..

I would opine that this stands in marked contrast to the Arab world, where few things are held accountable to the media, let alone the people..

I certainly don't see many folks in the media trying to claim that these documents the Israeli's captured are fake...

And lest you perceive some kind of love for sharon or Likud on my part, it's not there.. My interest in the security of Israel would be the same even if they weren't Jews. It's the democratic institution that I care about... The minute Israeli stops being a democracy is the minute they lose my sympathy..

And the moment these Arab governments become democracies, is the moment they will ENLIST my sympathy..
