YOur opinion.my God is not the GOd of wrath..............................that's Satan.

Like your god, Satan is not a God of wrath either.

Christ came in the New Testament to show man how he had gone astray...............

Indeed He did, but that is only part of the story. It is a dangerously truncated view of Christ. Christ both showed man how he had gone astray AND what would result should man fail to repent of his offenses. You and your priest focus upon the first part while ignoring the second. That is myopic.

Matthew 18:7-9 - Jesus Himself Declares in the New Testament:

"Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire."

...the wrath of the old testament is your trip...............not mine.

If you wish to remain in this fantasy, very well. I certainly do not wish to force anything upon you. But since you appear to have such a high regard for the New Testament and we are sharing our opinions about these things, I think I ought to take freedom to tell you the New Testament Scriptures are very clear that God has not changed, that merely because He now shows mercy to us via Christ, His wrath has not abated and that those found not within the whole Christ of the Scriptures will surely perish.

In the New Testament, Jesus Himself declares that at His Second Coming He Himself will first bless His people, then turn toward those upon whom He will shower wrath saying

"Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not." (Matthew 25:41-43)

My God is a loving God.

Mine is too. Indeed, unlike your god, my God will not lie to me, but instead tells me the truth, straight up, about the wrath that is surely on its way to engulf the entire earth. He is loving enough to tell me how to avoid it. For He loved the world like this: He gave His only Son so that those who believe on the Son will not incur eternal damnation, but survive forever. (John 3:16)

As provincial as that might sound to your sophisticated ear, I nevertheless see it is precisely the reality that rules all earthly existence. There is surely a cosmic moral ledger wherein no evil thing will be left without a counterbalancing entry. There is much evil in the world that is unaccounted for and it is compounding against us. It includes all of our lies, our adultery, our homosexuality, our cheating others, our racism, coldheartedness, our indifference to the hungry and to those who hurt, and our wholesale murder of millions upon millions of unborn children. That evil will not simply evaporate into nothingness. It is on the ledger and now groans against the earth.

I do not know what your god is going to do, but my God is going to balance the books and then clean house.
