The ignorance of French society gives one a rough sense of the infinite.

Let me tell you about France.......

Been living here 1.5 years, visited on several occasions the last 14 years.

My wife is French, my children are French, and I've recieved French nationality.

So you'd think moving to France would be somewhat simple. Well some things were and many things weren't.

In order to take the bus to school we needed to have a tarrif, based on our income, so that they would know how much to charge us for the bus.

Well, just having arrived in France, we had no income, since we had never filed a French tax return. So my son can't take the bus to school if no one knows how much we have to pay.....

So, eventually, some beurocrat comes up with the idea that we have to apply for welfare, and get refused. Doing so will establish the fact that we are not entitled for welfare, and as such, they are forced to put us in an income category.

So that's what we did, and were of course refused, and put into an income category. So my son takes the bus to school now.

The French people are very nice, but the beurocracy baffles the mind at times. If I have time tomorrow morning I'll tell you about France Telecom........
