Lazarus,
The employees of AID missions overseas, during the period in which I was stationed abroad, included many CIA employees using USAID as a cover. The communications that were available to USAID employees included material from the State Department and CIA, among other agencies. And as others have pointed out, a lot of the so-called classified material eventually finds its way into the public domain. If you are questioning my credibility on grounds that you think I didn't have access to important data, all I can say is that you're wrong.

If you think that my views are out of the mainstream, then all I can say is your own viewpoint is at odds with that of many seasoned diplomats, who continue to believe that a war would not be necessary if the administration was willing to trust those who have the necessary skills to handle this issue in a peaceful manner. Obviously you don't believe this view. So the only thing I can say is, too bad for all of us.
