Just imagine if California had the same relationship w. Mother US Gov't, paying something for it's "garrison" here, and forget the rest of the pay-them-so-they-can-pay-us-back nonsense.

Agreed, and while not perfect it has much to aspire to. Steve Forbes would be proud.
THREAD: I asked Jay to compare the most free-market place I could think of, to stimulate some further perspective on taxes/education/housing prices, etc., since this is a topic of complexity and interest.
The best way to get perspective IMO is to look for models that seem to actually work, or at least work differently, rather than get stuck in circular logic. (The same with medical system issues, Switzerland is a good comparison)
