SANTA CLARA, CALIF. (July 22, 1996) -- McAfee (Nasdaq: MCAF), a leading vendor of network security and management software for PC networks, today reported record results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 1996. Revenue for the second quarter reached $40,767,000, or 119% above revenues of $18,569,000 reported in the same period a year ago. Net income for the second quarter, excluding acquisition related expenses, increased 195% to $11,118,000, versus net income of $3,763,000 for the same period a year ago. Second quarter earnings per share, exclusive of acquisition related expenses, increased 167% to $.32, versus $.12 in the year ago period. Inclusive of the acquisition related expenses, net income and earnings per share for the quarter were a record $9,400,000 and $.27, respectively. Revenue for the first six months of 1996 rose to $74,612,000, 113% above revenues of $35,090,000 reported in the same period a year ago. Exclusive of acquisition related charges, net income for the first six months of 1996 rose 186% to $20,536,000 from $7,176,000 in the same period a year ago. Earnings per share, exclusive of acquisition related charges, rose 168% to $.59 from $.22 in the same period a year ago. |
