I wonder why people no longer can make up their own minds

You are wrong. They make up their minds just fine. That is why nobody believes the "righteous" reasons for Bush administration's fixation on Iraq, and few believe the "proof" they presented in the UN. That is why very few are following the US in this crusade. Because they have made up their own minds.

I think you are referring to people's refusal to support a US war if it is not sanctioned by the US by this. If you think it is because they need the UN to hold their hands in this decision or something, you are horribly wrong. People do not support an invasion without the UN, because the UN is the only international institution that can legitimize such a measure, especially in the absence of any clear and present danger from the target in question.

Invading Iraq will obviously be good for Israel. So no wonder you are happy about it. Please try to understand that the benefits to the rest of the world are not so clear, especially since it will surely lead to increased hostility to the western world and more terrorist recruits.
