Yep, it's all on how you *want* to look at it. And if prices are rising, everybody wants to know what the bullish reason was behind it. If prices are falling, they want to know what bearish news did it (or what evil short-seller did it).

I still get people asking me regularly "Why's the market up so much the past couple days?" and they look at me like I'm from another planet if I respond truthfully with "just short covering" or "it needed to go up for a little while". No, they need to know what news pushed price around.

I wonder how different things would be if a majority of the participants actually understood the reality of the forces pushing price around...
