C,

No one discussed nuking North Korea, except in the case of a North Korean nuclear launch.

The discussion centered on taking out (no mention of nukes) the North Korean weapons plants.

The nuclear counterattack if they launched is a given. I just wish it was unnecessary - that a missile defense system could (already) be in place for Japan and North America. Then we could just go after command and control with conventional weapons.

A lot of liberals and Democratic senators have been pushing this - almost as an alternative to Iraq. Or as an argument - if you won't attack NKorea - why Iraq?

The answer is - in due time. The UN discussions before Iraq. Other diplomacy before North Korea (probably involving the Chinese).

John
