how about we try a tighter range. Say a 2.99 rule

that's not the only issue. by the time I woke up this am, there weren't any numbers left I thought were any good. the problem was that someone had picked a number 7 points below another number. I was "locked" out. even if you have a 2.99 rule, people will choose a number 5 points away from another number. I'm not sure you can do anything about it.
