make deploying wire-speed, non-blocking routed Gigabit Ethernet backbones
extremely cost-effective.

High-Performance, Flexible Switches at a Lower Cost
The IntraCore(R) 35516 features 16 non-blocking Gigabit Ethernet ports,
wire-speed routing, the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) router protocol,
multicast routing, 8 hardware level priority queues, 4000 Virtual LANs (VLANs),
double 802.1q VLAN tagging, 2000 multicast groups, and 16,000 routing tables.
The new IC35516 Layer 2/3/4 Gigabit Ethernet backbone switches can be tailored
with hardware and software to precisely match an enterprise's network needs. By
using Layer 3 routing with the IC35516, users can subnet a standard IP network
into multiple subnets. With 16 ports of Gigabit Ethernet offered in a single
flexible design, the cost of ownership is reduced considerably by using
mix-and-match GBIC/copper ports. By using a single-chip state-of-the-art
architecture with shared memory, wire speed switching at Layer 2 and Layer 3
routing is achieved on all ports. Key features include:
